A BIG Thank You to the PTA!
During our long conference day on Monday the 20th our wonderful PTA provided dinner for our staff who were here from 8:00AM til 8:00PM that day. We are very grateful for the extra mile our PTA members consistently go to make so many of our events run more smoothly and efficiently.

This week the students at Patton were treated to a tremendous assembly with Henry Cole, the author of Nest for Celeste. He was a dynamic presenter sharing fun and exciting stories that led to him being an illustrator. In addition to stories, he also talked with the students about perseverance. He shared with the students the many, many edits he had to make to both his writing and his illustrations, emphasizing trying hard and not giving up. He was dynamic and inspiring, and we hope your students truly enjoyed his visit. For more pictures, please follow this link. Veterans Day Today (Friday) students participated in our annual Veterans Day assembly, where we pay tribute and honor our Veterans. We were fortunate to have many local Veterans join us, and our special guest speaker was Major Melinda Latting, who delivered an outstanding heartfelt message and inspirational message including themes of protecting what you love, never giving up, and always trying your best even if it doesn't work out the first time. The students were also fortunate to hear the musical talents of the Arlingtones, and our very own cub scouts and girl scouts presented the colors at the assembly. To all of our Veterans we wish you a "Happy Veterans Day" and we thank you for your service to our country! If you would like to see additional photos from our assembly, please follow this link. Halloween Recap
Thank you again to all of our parent volunteers who helped with traffic and classroom parties. Your contributions went a long way to making the day successful and fun. It is always fun to see students in their costumes and watch them parade through the neighborhood. It was equally enjoyable to see our students having a blast at their classroom parties. If you click on the link below, you can access the many photos that were taken during the afternoon of Halloween.
Pennies for Patients
Monday will be the last day that we will be collecting donations for the Pennies for Patients fundraiser. We understand that there have been a good number of needy causes which have drawn needed attention recently. We simply wanted to give a reminder as many students have stated they’ve “forgotten” to bring theirs in. So, take a moment to round up whatever you may have around to send in to this great cause (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society)! Thank you so much for your continued generosity! Patton Student Council

From Our Nurse and Social Worker...
Patton monitors weather conditions daily. Weather permitting, all of our children participate in outdoor play times. Studies have demonstrated significant benefits when fresh air and free playtime are included in the school day. Studies also show that children who are properly dressed will not become ill or worsen viral illnesses due to weather conditions. All children well enough to come to school are expected to participate in outdoor play. The only exception is a note from a doctor indicating 1) a diagnosed reason to limit fresh air playtime and 2) a prescribed length of time the child needs to remain indoors. We will not honor parent requests. Sarah Klancnik, Patton Nurse ([email protected]) With the colder weather upon us, please reach out to me if you are in need of, or in need of resources for, winter items such as boots, coats, gloves, etc. Barb Donahue, Patton Social Worker ([email protected])
