Hello Patton Families, We hope everyone enjoyed their week. Please take a moment to read through a few updates and have a wonderful weekend. Sincerely, Eric Larson Kindergarten and New First Grade Registration As was indicated in last week's Weekend Update, we are looking to have any new kindergartener for the 2016-17 school year registered as we are in the planning phases for next year. We would also like to add that if you have a child who will be entering first grade next year and will be new to Patton we would also like to begin that registration process as well. If you fall into either of these categories, please contact the office at 847-398-4288, and Mrs. Ryl or Mrs. Schmit can get your registration started and we can properly prepare for next year. Also, if you know of any families who might be starting first grade or kindergarten next fall, please pass this message on to them. Your help in this is greatly appreciated. The clubs will meet 2-3 times this school year, depending on interest, and there will be a separate sign up for each. Kindergarten Registration 2016-17 If you have a child turning 5 by Sept 1, 2016, please visit the District website to complete the brief, online pre-registration: sd25.org K-2 Parents --- DREAMBOX We wanted to provide you with some information about Dreambox because we have noticed an increase in students or siblings logging on to accounts that do not belong to them. Dreambox is an adaptive math program that provides real feedback and information to teachers to help design instruction for students. When students log into another’s account, or when a sibling plays on an account it skews the data rendering it unusable for teacher instruction. Each student’s account is unique to them and it must remain that way in order for the program to be effective and for the data to be authentic. Valentines Day 2016 Valentines parties are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:30pm on Friday, February 12. Room reps should double check with their classroom teachers to verify the start time as there may be a few exceptions. If your child is passing out Valentines cards to other students, the cards cannot have any candy or food attached to them. Trinkets such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc., are great alternatives as long as they are not edible. Items such as goodie bags filled with treats or candy are also not permitted. Just Move it!
