New Staff at Patton We are excited to welcome these six staff members to Patton. Each of them are coming to us with unique experiences and talents and we are so happy to have them join our community! Grade Level Teaching Teams
Lunch Shifts at Patton Patton will be returning to our "pre-pandemic" lunch shifts where students have twenty minute shifts to eat lunch. We have overflow seating for students who may need some additional time to eat their lunch. We realize that as students return to what will feel like a more typical lunchroom setting there will be an adjustment period. The times listed below are when students are eating lunch during the 12:10-1:10 time frame. When students are not eating lunch, they are outside at lunch recess. Students will be seated at every other seat at the lunch tables to allow for three feet of distance.
Recess Masks are not required for students to be worn when they are outside at recess. Additionally, we will no longer be utilizing zones and students will be experiencing recess in a typical fashion. Student Lunch Options During attendance all students will let their teachers know if they 1) will be having school lunch, 2) brought a bagged lunch from home, or, 3) are going home for lunch. Every school day, the District will provide three lunch choices (one hot and two cold). Also available to all students is a bag containing milk, a fruit, and two vegetable servings. All lunch items will be free for all District 25 students for the entire school year, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Students bringing lunch from home may take the bag containing milk/fruit/vegetables if they wish. There will be no a la carte milk or snack items at this time. For additional food service details, please click HERE. Curriculum Night Curriculum Night is slated for August 25, at the times listed below. Curriculum Night will be hosted in person.
Supply Drop Off Supply Drop off will occur on August 18 from 2:40-3:20. To ease congestion in the building we are asking for families with the last names A-K to come from 2:40-3:00, and last names L-Z to come from 3:00-3:20. Once you drop off your supplies and say hello to your child's teacher please feel free to head outside to the blacktop area and connect with other families outdoors. Families should not stay in the classroom to label supplies. Classroom teachers can assist with the organization of supplies once school begins. If you are unable to attend supply drop off, please know that it is perfectly acceptable for your children to bring their supplies in over the first few days of school. Also, if you ordered supplies through the PTA, those supplies will be delivered to your child's classroom for you. Class Placement Emails Teacher assignments for all fully registered students are scheduled to be emailed on August 12th. These emails are sent from the District Office to all District 25 families over the course of the day. You will receive separate emails if you have more than one child attending school in the District. Pick up and Drop Off Procedures On the first day of school, additional staff will be outside to greet your children so everyone knows where to line up prior to entering the building. Patton's Traffic Team will be on-site daily to help ensure cars line up properly and to help children exit from cars. We ask that you abide by their directions while picking up and dropping off as their top priority is student safety. School staff will begin supervising students at 8:50 am each morning out on the blacktop. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade
Your help is needed to keep our drop-off line moving each morning.
Signing Students In or Out of School Should your child need to enter or leave school during the school day (including for lunch), we ask that you notify the teacher and Patton's office beforehand, via email or phone. When you arrive at school, you will need to sign your child in - or out - using the QR code posted on the doors OR the ONLINE FORM. Students are required to be signed in if they arrive at 9:05 or later. The form can only be filled out when you arrive to pick up/drop off your child. The form "time stamps" your entry and filling it out too soon provides inaccurate attendance information. If you fill out the form before picking up your child, the office will request you to fill it out again so the time accurately reflects when your child was picked up or dropped off. District 25 & RULER Last school year our staff participated in RULER courses designed for personal and professional social and emotional development. By completing these interactive social and emotional learning courses, school staff developed a shared understanding of the necessary skills and tools to support successful RULER implementation. This school year staff will launch this very important social and emotional learning curriculum in our classrooms and schools. We will host parent sessions throughout the fall to help parents learn more about this important work! Save the date: We are excited to host Marc Brackett, Ph.D on August 17, at 7:30 PM. Please join this virtual parent session to learn more about social and emotional learning and the importance of integrating this work in our schools. MORE DETAILS AND ZOOM LINK COMING SOON! Marc Brackett, Ph.D., is the Founder and Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and a Professor in the Child Study Center of Yale University. He is the lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning that has been adopted by nearly 2,000 pre-K through high schools across the United States and in other countries. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Comments are closed.
