Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Beginning on April 2nd and concluding on April 8th, students in 3rd-5th grades will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for English/Language Arts and Math. The students will complete two testing units for English/Language Arts and three testing units for Math. Third graders will test at 10:30 in the morning, while fourth and fifth graders will test at 9:15. We appreciate your support with the testing by making sure your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time. Election Day - April 2 April 2 is election day, and as many of you know, Patton is an official polling place. In the interest of student safety, Patton will have indoor recess all day, regardless of the weather. We will secure the voting area (the gym) so that visitors cannot access the rest of the school building. Voters will have to enter/exit through the gym doors. Additionally, there will be a District 25 building attendant and a central office administrator on site to redirect any visitor. As always, student safety is a top priority while your children are in our care. Running Club for 4th and 5th Graders Running club meets on Wednesdays in April from 3:45-4:30 (April 3, 10, 17, 24).
