Upcoming Student Assessments The District Assessment Window for the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) and FastBridge open on December 2nd. Students will be tested throughout the weeks leading up to Winter Break in both reading and math. Please look for communication from your child's classroom teacher that includes specific testing days. In preparation for these assessments, getting a good night's sleep and eating a healthy breakfast can greatly set a child up for success. Thank you in advance for your support with this! 5th Grade Parent Information Night - FROZEN! Veterans Day During Monday's Veterans Day assembly, Patton students and staff were very fortunate to hear a personal message from former police officer and veteran Michele Morgan, Specialist (E4), Army. The students were also treated to the musical talents of the Arlingtones, and were able to honor more than a dozen local veterans from a variety of military branches with notes and drawings. To all of our Veterans we hope you had a "Happy Veterans Day" and we thank you for your service to our country! Outdoor Recess All Patton 1st through 5th graders have recess every day, and -- despite the unseasonably cold temps -- they have been enjoying their play time outside (really!) Just a couple suggestions: don't forget to watch the ever-changing Chicago weather and have the children dress accordingly; and please label all removable clothing items! Students are only permitted to remain indoors if they have a doctor's note requiring them to do so. Below are a few recent recess pics.

Updated Visitor ID System District 25 has upgraded the "Raptor" system, which is used to scan ID cards and produce badges for school visitors. While it will now work District-wide and be more efficient, we will need to re-scan everyones' ID the next time they visit a District school. Therefore, we ask that you please make sure to bring your ID on your next visit, and allow a few extra moments to get it scanned. Thank you for your understanding! 5th Grade Musical The Patton Production Team and the 5th grade students are excited to announce this year's 5th grade musical: Frozen Jr.! Halloween
Thank you to everyone who contributed to Patton's Halloween celebrations this year, despite Mother Nature not cooperating! Our costume parade was shorter than usual, but just as sweet. Thanks go out to all of our Room Reps and parent volunteers as well as the traffic team and staff who braved the scary weather. This is just one example of the many many times each year the Patton community comes together to make a fun (and safe!) experience for our children, and we are grateful. For those who would like to view the children in their costumes, you can follow this link.
