Planning to Travel Over Break? The health department recommends a 14 day quarantine period for anyone who traveled outside of Suburban Cook County. Given this health guidance, we do ask that families please follow the recommended guidelines set out by the health department. It is important that we all look out for one another and keep our students and staff safe. If you do need to quarantine, please inform the office through our absence form or simply give us a call. Thank you!
A Note From the Nurse I will be monitoring my voicemail and email over our winter break from school. Hybrid Families Only...
For our teachers to plan each school day, it is essential for them to know which students will be learning remotely and which will be in person at Patton. Please email your child's teacher as well as Penny Schmit ([email protected]) if you have a child who has been attending hybrid who, for any reason, is going to be learning remotely. Please include the:
Gratitude Padlet
THANK YOU to all who have submitted entries for our Gratitude Padlet. There are over 100 entries! The Padlet will be open for families to continue to enter submissions. To submit an entry, go to https://bit.ly/gratitude25 and to view the Padlet go to bit.ly/pattonpadlet. Thank you for your continued support of the amazing Staff at Patton!
Remote Families Only...
We still want your student(s) to be able to check out books from Patton LMC! Watch the video below to learn how to put a book on hold, and then if your student is K-3, check their LMC Seesaw class for a post with the Google login information needed. (4th and 5th grade students should know that information). Please only put books on hold that are "in." We will put student's hold requests on the table inside the front door for pick up about 24 hours after a request is made, unless the book is unavailable because it is "in quarantine." If this happens I will email you with alternate choices. To return, just drop in the crate on the same table within 2 weeks. Enjoy! Ms. Melamed, LMC Director ([email protected])

Keeping Winter Blues at Bay: Resources from our Social Worker
Parents and Families: I received an email from The Josselyn Center today that I found very helpful! Instead of 'lots of reading and nothing new,' this one was a bit different. I found it to have quick and easy to read points and they are not all the same as 'the ones we've all heard in the past.' Please check out the article here and reach out to me if you'd like more information like this. Also, you can go to https://josselyn.org/ for more tidbits similar to this one. I sincerely hope these help. Barb Donahue ([email protected])

Gratitude Message Board
Throughout the past few months, many of you have asked how families can support the Patton Staff and show appreciation for all they are doing for students. More than anything, kind words and expressions of gratitude mean so very much. We encourage you to show your appreciation of a teacher or other school staff member during this holiday season by providing a message for our school's new Gratitude Board! You can place an entry on this form to be posted on the Gratitude Board. It will appear on our school website throughout the holiday season and will be updated regularly. Thank you in advance for your support and appreciation of our Patton teachers!
Monitoring Student Illness
We need your help to accurately track student illness. If you have not already done so, please notify me if your child was ill or tested positive for Covid-19 over Thanksgiving break. And please continue to notify me as soon as possible, should your child develop covid symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 in the future. I want to congratulate our parents on doing such a good job keeping an eye on their students and keeping Patton in the loop. I have not had to send an ill child home for months! Thank you. Art Class Updates
Art Portfolios: If your student is not at school on their art day or is fully remote, and you do not have their 12x18” art portfolio provided by Mrs. Maloney, it is ready for you to pick up in the front office vestibule at your earliest convenience. The portfolio serves as a place to store projects, and there are art papers in it for future projects. Watercolors: If you are not able to get watercolors for your student for art, please email Mrs. Maloney at [email protected] with your student’s name and class, and she will put a set in the front office vestibule for you.
