Transition to Hybrid - October 12 Everyone should have received an email from the District with the link to the Step 3 Plan, Transition from Remote to Hybrid. So you have another reference point, here is the link to the Step 3 Plan. Within the document is this survey where families need to indicate if they will be electing to have their child stay in a remote environment, or, will be attending in-person in the hybrid model. The deadline to complete the survey is Wednesday, September 30 at midnight. All of the details related to hybrid learning from a district perspective are found in the Step 3 Plan. National Walk/Bike to School Day: Wednesday, October 7th We tried to come up with a fun way for our families to enjoy National Walk/Bike to School Day whether or not we are in school on that date. Would your family be willing to commit to "Chalking your Walk" so that we can let all the Patton families know where they can walk to enjoy encouraging words or a chalked activity/exercise/etc? No names or specific addresses are needed. If so, please fill out this form by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 30th. Thank you for your help in making this a fun experience for our Patton Panther families! Please contact Cora Chicca and Julie Kozlik with any questions: [email protected] Absences
If your child is going to miss school for any reason please notify Patton at your earliest convenience. Thank you!

As our students and families continue to deal with the challenges of pandemic closures and ever-changing plans, I would like to offer support during the transition “back to school.” In case you haven’t gotten a chance to meet me, I’m the social worker at Patton. I am here full time to support the children and families at Patton School. Given that many families are on stress-overload, and students do not currently have an option to approach social workers directly, we have attached:
Of course, if you’d like to speak with me about any specific concerns, you are encouraged to reach out to me at the number/email listed below. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to the time we can connect with each other in person! Sincerely, Barb Donahue, Patton School Social Worker [email protected] Direct phone line: 847-506-6999 x5927 Tech Tips for Students and Parents Please try to minimize any disruptions while your child is on Zoom with a teacher. During this time it is essential for each teacher’s attention to be solely on his or her students. Interruptions impact all students in the class. So please, to the best of your ability, provide your student with quiet surroundings during Zoom classes, and email your teacher with any questions or clarifications you may need. Thank you for your help during the remote learning process! Our Tech Department recommends that all students power down Chromebooks at least once a day and maybe at lunchtime as well. That will help the "glitchiness" many are experiencing. Ipads should also be rebooted occasionally to prevent connectivity issues (Press and hold the On/Off/Sleep button at the upper-right corner of the iPad. Slide the bar to power off).

Reboot to Refresh! Video conferencing takes a tremendous amount of resources for computers. Our District Tech department recommends that you encourage your children to restart their devices at least once a day, during an off period or each morning/evening. This helps to reset the computer usage and make it available for the next set of tasks. You can also improve performance by limiting the amount of tabs and windows open at the same time as they are constantly reloading in the background. These steps can help reset and hopefully improve the experience each day. Chromebooks To turn off your Chromebook completely, try one of these options:
To Power Down Your iPad press and hold the On/Off/Sleep button at the upper-right corner of the iPad. Slide the bar to Power off. Absences and Appointments
