As our students and families continue to deal with the challenges of pandemic closures and ever-changing plans, I would like to offer support during the transition “back to school.” In case you haven’t gotten a chance to meet me, I’m the social worker at Patton. I am here full time to support the children and families at Patton School. Given that many families are on stress-overload, and students do not currently have an option to approach social workers directly, we have attached:
Of course, if you’d like to speak with me about any specific concerns, you are encouraged to reach out to me at the number/email listed below. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to the time we can connect with each other in person! Sincerely, Barb Donahue, Patton School Social Worker [email protected] Direct phone line: 847-506-6999 x5927 Tech Tips for Students and Parents Please try to minimize any disruptions while your child is on Zoom with a teacher. During this time it is essential for each teacher’s attention to be solely on his or her students. Interruptions impact all students in the class. So please, to the best of your ability, provide your student with quiet surroundings during Zoom classes, and email your teacher with any questions or clarifications you may need. Thank you for your help during the remote learning process! Our Tech Department recommends that all students power down Chromebooks at least once a day and maybe at lunchtime as well. That will help the "glitchiness" many are experiencing. Ipads should also be rebooted occasionally to prevent connectivity issues (Press and hold the On/Off/Sleep button at the upper-right corner of the iPad. Slide the bar to power off).
