For Families Who Have Selected In-Person Learning - New Zoom Guidelines We are so excited to have more students returning in-person schooling. Patton currently has 92% of the student population in the building. Due to an increasing number of families who have selected the in-person option, we have some classrooms that have no remote learners. Moving forward we are adjusting our guidelines when it comes to in-person students logging in remotely on Zoom. Our goal is to return to as close to “normal” as possible during this time. The expectation is that students who selected “in-person learning” are here in the building. Only under select circumstances would we allow a child to Zoom in. For Families Taking a Vacation Students will not be allowed to log in to Zoom while on vacation. Our teachers may work with you to provide your child with assignments/alternative activities to complete while they are away, or they may choose to catch your child up on material missed when they return. After your vacation, we will allow your child to Zoom into the classroom remotely in order to follow the recommended quarantine guidelines by IDPH. Please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Klancnik to determine a date of return. For Students Who are Sick and/or Required to Quarantine Please contact the school office to report the absence and based on direction from our school nurse and administration, we will determine if your child can Zoom until cleared to return to school. Please keep in mind that many teachers are not automatically on Zoom so arrangements will need to be made in advance. For Students with Appointments During the School Day If your child has an appointment during the school day (doctor, dentist, orthodontist, etc.) he/she should still attend school at Patton until they need to leave for the appointment. Students will not be allowed to Zoom in for part of the day to accommodate various appointments. Please participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey, as a part of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey administration. The survey responses are anonymous and will never be connected to the identity of you or your child, as school reports will only present aggregated information of how parents responded as a whole. In order for the survey report to be generated we need at least 20 percent of our parents to take the survey. Please CLICK HERE to take the parent survey that began on February 3, 2021. The 5Essentials Survey is open through April 2, 2021. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact 5Essentials Customer Support at 1-866-440-1874 or [email protected].
