Hello Patton Community,
I hope you had a wonderful week. Patton has been buzzing with all sorts of learning activities this week. I hope you have able to follow along with us a little bit on social media. This week marks the end of our fall assessments. The data that is generated helps guide our instruction, form groups, and provides us with information so we can be supporting all of our students. On October 9 we have our School Improvement Day, and throughout the morning the teachers will spend a significant amount of time reviewing the data that has been collected. Below you will find some updates, information, and tweets of the week. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend with your family. Sincerely, Eric Larson CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
This week I had the pleasure of meeting with some students to talk about two clubs that they wanted to start. One was a Yoga club, and another was a paper airplane club. The best part about both of these clubs is that they were totally driven by the students and their interests/desires. The goal is to include as many students as possible from a variety of grade levels. More information to come, but I love how students are willing to work together, advocate for their interests, and share their talents with others. Stay tuned for more information on the clubs listed above. Below you will find an image of club offerings at Patton that are set for this year. (Miss Donovan is working on a club opportunity for our primary friends, and we will release more information after the planning is complete.) As new clubs arise, we will keep you informed.

PTA DIRECTORY INFORMATION
From the PTA: The 2015-16 Patton PTA Directory booklet is going to be delivered this week, and parents should be aware that the data in that booklet is to be used only for personal communications between students, families, and staff. We have already had two instances this year where data from past Patton Directories has been used for business purposes. The existence of our Directory hinges on our non-business policy, since the PTA is forbidden in our by-laws from advertising or otherwise promoting businesses or other groups. We’d like to keep a Directory available in the future, so please use the information within it properly. It’s a valuable book - please help keep us from needing to eliminate it.
FLYERS/LINKS
In the update the PTA emailed out, they reinforced that the information within the PTA directory is for personal communications between students, families, and staff. It is not to be used for business purposes or advertise for a group or organization. It should be used responsibly and for it's intended purposes only. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your PTA presidents or myself.
Smart Snacks
District 25's Smart Snack program offers a variety of whole grain, baked, fruit, veggie, and dairy-rich products that are under 200 calories. Prices range from 25 cents to one dollar. Students who have returned a signed permission slip can purchase these items with the same MealTime account used for hot and zip line lunches. For more information click here. To print out a permission slip, scroll down to the bottom of this page. TWEETS OF THE WEEK
