Hello Patton Community,
This week flew by! I hope your children have enjoyed school this week and have had great stories to tell you when they come home. We have a bunch of updates for you. Please read through each of them, and as always, let us know if you have any questions. I hope you have a wonderful three day weekend with your families. Sincerely, Eric Larson UPDATES & INFORMATION
TRAFFIC FLOW
I've said this before, but I have to say it again, Patton is blessed with the best traffic volunteers. In fact, it is well known throughout the district that Patton has an amazing traffic team and another school has solicited our help to streamline their traffic practices. Patience and grace are always needed though because no system is perfect. Please model the Patton Way for your children, and know that "Thank You's" go a long way. We have been using a simple statement with our students when it comes to recess and PE, which could easily be applied to pick up and drop off. "Be kind, be safe, and follow directions." For those who may be new or have questions, below you will find information specific to our traffic patterns. Our goal is to dismiss students efficiently, but safety will always be our number one priority.
CLASSROOM SNACKS
This is a friendly reminder that the Patton snack rule consists of fruits or vegetables. I love going into classrooms during snack time when someone has an orange or tangerine. (It smells so good!) If your child is having a snack, please keep this rule in mind.
APPOINTMENTS WITH PATTON STAFF
Teachers always want to make time to meet with parents who wish to discuss their child. However, it is important to remember that the end of the school day can be a very busy time with after-school activities and meetings. Please do not come to the office at the end of the day to meet a teacher unannounced, but instead email or call your child's teacher to schedule a time that works for you both. Our staff is committed to working with you and your children throughout the year. If it's Not Nailed Down, Label It To help us return way-laid lunch boxes, hats, coats (or whatever your child brings from home) please clearly label any and all personal items with your child's name. CLOTHING FOR NURSES' OFFICE If you have gently used children's clothing please consider donating it to the Patton Nurses' Office to be used for spills and messes that can happen during the school day. There is a particular need for smaller sizes, but shirts and pants for boys and girls for kindergarten through 5th would be welcome. Also needed are new packages of underwear and socks. If you have an item you wish to donate, you can simply send it in with your child or drop it at the front office. Thanks as always for your generosity! TWEETS OF THE WEEK
