Spring is here! Time to come out of hibernation and catch up with other Patton parents. Please join us on the Patton blacktop for coffee, treats, and conversation from 9-10 am on Wednesday, April 22 - the same day as the All School Movie Field Trip. Evereve Fundraiser Thursday, April 23rd the Patton PTA will be holding a fundraiser at Evereve in Deer Park (previously known as Hot Mama). Join us for an evening of shopping and socializing from 6-9 or shop during the day and mention the Patton PTA. Either way we will receive 15% of the sales. We look forward to seeing you there! Time for the Plastic Bag Recycling Contest! Did you know that plastic shopping bags can be recycled? PTA and the Patton Social Service Club are hosting a plastic bag recycling contest during Earth Week (April 20-24th) to encourage recycling. Each child in the class collecting the most bags will receive an eco-friendly prize. Please wait until April 20th to send bags to school - all bags must be received by April 24th. After the contest, you can continue to recycle your plastic bags at local stores such as Target and Jewel. Contact Jenny Stanhope at [email protected] with questions. Recycled Art Projects Due Next Week Last call for Recycled Art Projects! Students should bring their projects to school on Thursday, April 23rd for judging and take them home at the end of the day on Friday, April 24th. For contest rules click here. Cultural Arts Assembly On Friday, April 24th the PTA Cultural Arts Committee will be presenting The Magic of Rhythm by members of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Morning Kindergarten students are invited to attend the 1:30pm show with a parent/guardian. After April 24, you will no longer be able to create custom pages. However, orders for yearbooks will still be accepted after April 24, but shipping charges will be included in any late orders. If you complete custom pages, don’t forget to set them to “Print Ready” status to make sure they get included in your yearbook. To order a yearbook, simply go to www.treering.com and enter the Patton code: 1014110707661184. At that point, you confirm your child(ren) and you are able to order. If you have any questions, please send an email to [email protected] Rockin' with the Cops at Pioneer Park Applications are being accepted for the annual Rockin' With The Cops Event, which is scheduled for June 4, 2015 from 7-10 PM at Pioneer Park. This event is open to Arlington Heights school students who are current in 5th grade. Click HERE for the application, complete it, and drop it at the Arlington Heights Police Department Main Desk, 200 E. Arlington Heights Rd. This is the only way applications will be accepted. The event is open to 250 5th grade students, the applications will be accepted until 05/06/15 at 9:00 am. This event has filled up quickly in the past, so drop off your application at the Police Department ASAP. Patton Panther In-School Drawing winners! A very big thank you to all of the generous teachers, staff and families that contributed to this year’s very successful Patton Panther In-School Drawing. Patton raised over $1,000 for the District 25 Scholarship and Grant Fund. Funds raised will go to the Scholarship and Grant Fund, benefiting the education of School District 25 students through PTA scholarships and the ABC/25 Foundation Grant selection.
