October Meeting - Wednesday, October 2nd
Please join us at our first PTA meeting of the school year this Wednesday, October 2nd at 9:15am in the Commons. We will be approving the 2019/2020 Budget and the 2018/2019 Audit. If you can’t make the morning meeting, our November meeting on 11/6 will be held in the evening at 7:30pm. Please contact the PTA at [email protected] with any questions. Younger siblings are welcome at our meetings! Walk to School Day - Wednesday, October 2nd Gather your friends, neighbors and classmates and walk to school on Wednesday, October 2nd! Arrive at school a little early and enjoy music on the blacktop and some special surprises. School Pictures - This Monday - September 30th Please complete your school picture order forms and send them back to school along with cash or check. Exact amounts are required and one separate form must be completed for each child. Late order envelopes will not be accepted and late orders must be made directly through Color Portraits. Alternatively, you can order online and pay with a credit card. If you did not receive an order form, there are extras in the office. To order pictures online, go to www.ordercp.com and enter the school code: 10025401. Please remember, it is NOT recommended to wear green given the background used when taking pictures. Pumpkin Patch - Apple & Donut Orders Pumpkin patch is rapidly approaching! It will be held on Friday, October 18th from 3:35-5:00 pm. This year all donut and apple orders will be done electronically. You will see an email from the PTA today, 9/26, with an order form and instructions on how to pay online. We will NOT be sending order forms home through backpack mail. Don’t miss out! ALL ORDERS DUE on or before Wednesday, October 10th at 5pm. Late orders cannot be accepted. Orders will be ready for pickup at the Pumpkin Patch event on 10/18. Running Club- Grades 1-3 Attention all 1st, 2nd and 3rd Graders! Are you interested in a fun filled running and fitness club? Let’s get moving with our friends and classmates. It’s that time of year for Fall Running Club! Each session will include the following: -Warm-up with stretches and exercises -Walk/run at each student’s ability level on school grounds -Obstacle courses and agility exercises -Education on hydration and healthy eating Running Club begins on Wednesday, October 2nd and runs for 4 weeks every Wednesday from 3:35-4:30 pm. Permission slips went home through backpack mail. Parent Event - Trivia Night - November 2nd Book your babysitter, start brushing up on your trivia and gather your friends, our first Parent Trivia Night is just over a month away on Saturday 11/2! We will be sending an email this Sunday 9/29 that will have event details including, team formation, registration and payments. Due to the Tornado Warning on 9/11, our September General Meeting was cancelled. We have decided not to reschedule the meeting. Our meeting on October 2nd at 9:15am will be our first meeting of the year. We hope to see you there. If we do not have a committee chair in place to coordinate this program, the Reflections processes will look drastically different this year. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering or if you would like more information. If your children were previously involved with Reflections, please consider taking on this position. Mini Courses - Committee Members Needed We are looking for 3-4 new committee members to join the Mini Course committee for the year. The positions include varying degrees of work. We are also in need of a chairperson. If we do not get volunteers to help with Mini Course, we will not be able to offer this fun program this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and who attended the Back to School Bash. It was a great night and we had a great turnout. Thank you to our Programs Committee for organizing such a fun event. Optional Stress-Free Fundraiser Once again this is our big fall fundraiser. We are off to a great start and want to keep the momentum going! Join other Patton families at Garibaldi's tonight -Thursday, September 12th from 4pm - 8pm for our first Dine and Share of the year.
