Wednesday, April 27th from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Our Patton Staff will be our scoopers! This is a contest between 14 schools in Mt Prospect and Arlington Heights. Here is how it works: 10% of our sales will go to Patton PTA. The top 3 schools with the highest profits during their days get between 20%-60% of ALL 14 SCHOOL SALES…. (Redeeming gift cards does NOT count towards Patton total sales) Recycled Art Contest - Due Thursday, April 21st Patton PTA invites your child to enter the annual Patton Recycled Art Contest! Patton PTA Procedure Guide - Updates Needed We are in the process of updating the Patton PTA Procedure Guide and need your help. All standing committee chairs should have received an email with a link to a Google Doc that contained all current committee descriptions. If you did not receive this email, please contact Krin Hupp at [email protected] so that she may forward the document to you for your review. Please take time over the next few weeks to make any corrections/updates so that we may finalize the PTA Procedure Guide before the end of April. Thanks so much! Do You Like Numbers? Join The Audit Committee The Patton PTA audits our financials each summer, and we’re looking for two more people to join Joanne Doering, 2016-17 PTA Treasurer, on the committee. Help us continue our tradition of excellence in the Patton PTA. 5th Graders - Sign Up for “Rockin’ With The Cops” Before May 2nd The Arlington Heights Police Department’s annual pool party “Rockin’ With The Cops” is scheduled for Thursday, June 9th at a new location - Frontier Park. This fun event runs from 7-10 PM, but only the first 250 applications will be accepted! Applications will be available soon at www.vah.com, and must be submitted prior to May 2nd. Take a look at the flyer here, and get your applications in! Just Move it! Challenge Needs Volunteers and Offers Something for the Whole Family! Spring is coming and the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs and ABC/25 Foundation invite runners and walkers of ALL ages and abilities to participate in a 5k and 1 mile Run/Walk on Saturday, April 16th that combines fitness and fun for the entire family! We still NEED Volunteers! Over 75 volunteers are needed to make race day successful. Street marshal volunteers are needed for both the 5K and 1 Mile races; this is a great way to cheer on family and friends while they run or walk! The ABC/25 Foundation is a volunteer organization that since its inception has raised and contributed more than $1 million in teacher and school grants for District 25. The impact: cuts to programs for children and families throughout the state - including cuts in education, health services, violence prevention programs, and juvenile justice initiatives. The Fact Sheet attached lists only a few of the many services cut that are impacting children and families throughout Illinois. Your voice can be heard! Stand with the Illinois PTA today: contact Governor Rauner and your Legislators and urge them to pass a budget that provides equitable, funding at the level needed for the operation of programs that support health, education and welfare of all Illinois children and families.
