February PTA Meeting
Please join us for our February PTA meeting on Wednesday, February 5th at 7:30pm in the Commons. We will be discussing upcoming PTA events and District 25 Superintendent, Dr. Lori Bein, will be giving a brief presentation on bullying. We hope to see you there! Valentine’s Day Party Volunteers The name tag system for volunteers was updated in November. This means that if you haven't volunteered in school since then, you are no longer in the name tag system. If you are volunteering to help with a Valentine’s day party and have not received a name tag since November, please stop by the Patton office prior to the party on 2/12 so the office staff can scan your driver's license. Questions, please email the PTA at [email protected]. PTA Traffic The traffic team would like to thank parents for their patience; especially during the colder, snowy weather. Please keep in mind that our priority is safety. We ask that you, as parents and guardians, review the flow of traffic patterns below and abide by the street signs that you see at Maude and Patton Ave. *We also want to remind all Kindergarten families that all traffic should be flowing south on Patton Ave. from Wilke Rd. There should not be any Northbound through traffic on Patton Ave. during drop off and pick up times. (There are signs posted heading east on Maude at the stop sign as well as heading north on Patton - south of the school - at the stop sign. Please review these signs for times northbound traffic is prohibited. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe! Save the Date - Bingo Night 3/13 The PTA will be hosting Family Bingo Night at Patton. It will be on Friday, March13th at 7pm. More details to come! Save the Date - Pool Party 4/4 We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a pool party again this year! It will be at the Arlington Ridge Center on Saturday, April 4th from 6:00-8:00pm. More details to come! Reading Enrichment It’s time for the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program! Students who read a total of 6 hours or more (outside of homework) are eligible to receive a ticket to Six Flags Great America for use in the summer of 2020 (specific dates for use are located on the ticket). The program has gone digital this year! Paper logs will still come home to track your student’s reading, but then parents will submit the hours read online for their students. The reading logs have a unique code for Patton and then parents will select the appropriate teacher for their students. Hours should be submitted by March 1, 2020. Any questions, please reach out to Karen Gonzalez at [email protected] Pre-K Story Times Do you have an incoming Kindergartner for 2020-2021? Come join us for Pre-K storytime! We have 3 scheduled Pre-K story times: Friday, March 13th 9:30am-10am, Thursday, April 9th, 9:30-10am, and Friday, May 8th 1:45pm-2:15pm. Come meet other incoming Kindergarten students and meet the principal. Storytime will involve a story read by Mr. Larson as well as a craft. This is a great opportunity to meet other Kindergarten parents and get your future kindergartner introduced to Patton. Any questions? Email Megan Worthington at [email protected]. AHC-PTA Scholarships Did you know that every year the Arlington Heights Council PTA offers scholarship opportunities to high school seniors who attended District 25 Schools? Information about the scholarships is posted on local high school college and career planning websites. Please encourage any high school seniors that you might know to take advantage of this great opportunity. Questions or Ideas? Do you have a question or a great idea you want to share with PTA? A topic you would like to see on a PTA Meeting Agenda? Please email your ideas to Patton PTA at [email protected].
