Patton Family In Need As many of you may already know, the family of Patton student Lily Moran is going through a difficult time right now. Lily, who is in Mrs. Ricci’s fourth grade class, has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Many families in the Patton community have already been showing their support, and we wanted to share some opportunities to get more families involved. If you would like to help out the Moran family here are a few options: 1. Patton parent Karen Gonzalez has started a meal sign up. If you would like to provide a meal for the family go to: https://my.lotsahelpinghands.com/community/the-moran-family The Moran’s have requested dinner on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the week. If someone would like to sign up, you will need to create an account. After you have been approved you will be able to view the calendar and see which days dinner is still needed. Right now, the calendar is set up through March. If you have any questions you can contact Karen Gonzalez at 847.863.3996 or [email protected]. 2. A friend of Lily’s family is collecting books for Lily. She is asking for gently used books that a fourth grade girl would enjoy. If you have any books that you would like to donate you can drop them off at Connie DeBlasio's house at 1329 N. Race Ave. and she will have them delivered. She would like the books by Christmas break. 3. Other Patton families and friends of the Morans have organized separate methods to support the family, which are posted on Facebook at the Patton Elementary School Parents independent page. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Lily and her family. We thank the people who have set up these opportunities to assist, and hope to help as we communicate this information to our PTA members. CANCELLED - December 8th PTA Meeting. The December PTA Meeting conflicts directly with the newly-scheduled Park District online registration (it used to be on Thursday), therefore it has been cancelled. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 12th at 9:15 AM in the Commons. Just Move It Challenge T-Shirt Design Contest Entries Due Tomorrow The Just Move It Challenge, a 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Run/Walk to benefit the ABC/25 foundation (and therefore District 25 schools) is holding its first T-shirt Design Contest! The top three T-shirt designs will be chosen from the entire district by the Just Move It! Challenge race team, followed by a vote by District 25 students, faculty and family to select the winner. There will also be one winning poster design selected from each school. These designs will be displayed at school as well as at select Arlington Heights businesses. Entries are due TOMORROW, Friday, December 4, 2015. Click HERE for the contest rules flyer. Let’s participate and represent Patton school’s creative spirit! First Annual Patton PTA Holiday Party at Gatsby’s! It’s time to get together informally and have some fun away from school - so book your babysitter and reserve your Uber, the Patton PTA is having a holiday party! We hope you can join us Friday, December 18, 7:00pm at Gatsby’s Pub, 427 E Rand Rd. It’s a simple set up - no cover, cash bar, and we have the back room reserved. Gatsby’s has a full menu if you’d like to enjoy some fine dining! We will also be collecting canned goods for the Wheeling Food Pantry, so please consider bringing a donation. Please RSVP using the Evite found here! Questions or Ideas? Do you have a question or a great idea you want to share with PTA? A topic you would like to see on a PTA Meeting Agenda?
