Patton Family In Need
As many of you may already know, the family of Patton student Lily Moran is going through a difficult time right now. Lily, who is in Mrs. Ricci’s fourth grade class, has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Many families in the Patton community have already been showing their support, and we wanted to share some opportunities to get more families involved. If you would like to help out the Moran family here are a few options: 1. Patton parent Karen Gonzalez has started a meal sign up. If you would like to provide a meal for the family go to: https://my.lotsahelpinghands.com/community/the-moran-family The Moran’s have requested dinner on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the week. If someone would like to sign up, you will need to create an account. After you have been approved you will be able to view the calendar and see which days dinner is still needed. Right now, the calendar is set up through March. If you have any questions you can contact Karen Gonzalez at 847.863.3996 or [email protected]. 2. A friend of Lily’s family is collecting books for Lily. She is asking for gently used books that a fourth grade girl would enjoy. If you have any books that you would like to donate you can drop them off at Connie DeBlasio's house at 1329 N. Race Ave. and she will have them delivered. She would like the books by Christmas break. 3. Other Patton families and friends of the Morans have organized separate methods to support the family, which are posted on Facebook at the Patton Elementary School Parents independent page. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Lily and her family. We thank the people who have set up these opportunities to assist, and hope to help as we communicate this information to our PTA members. First Annual Patton PTA Holiday Party December 18th The clock is ticking, and we want your RSVPs! It’s time to get together informally and have some fun away from school - so book your babysitter and reserve your Uber, the Patton PTA is having a holiday party! We hope you can join us Friday, December 18th, 7:00pm, and now we are considering a change to Tuscan Market vs Gatsby’s Pub (we'll inform you if it moves to Tuscan Market). It’s a simple set up - no cover, cash bar, and we'll have space reserved. We will also be collecting canned goods for the Wheeling Food Pantry, so please consider bringing a donation. Please RSVP using the Evite found here! Nominating Committee is Forming The Patton PTA is currently looking for PTA members who are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee for 2016-17 Executive Committee positions. If you'd like to get involved with the PTA, this is a great place to start. Typically there are only a few meetings required, and you'll get to help mold the future of the Patton PTA! Please email Bob Corley or Joanna Esposito at [email protected] or [email protected] to express your interest in this important committee. Congrats to Silent Auction Winners Thanks for everyone who participated in the Silent Auction this year at the Holiday Shop!
