School Supply Kits for 2015-2016
The PTA is once again offering the option to purchase your school supplies as a whole kit! Order forms for next year’s school supply kits have been sent home. The online ordering window will be from Friday, May 22nd thru Saturday June 6th. After that date you will no longer be able to order the kit. Go to www.shopttkits.com and enter the school code# 20127 and select the appropriate grade level(s) for your children. Please keep the confirmation email that is sent from Schoolkidz after ordering. No need to pick up the kits before school begins. Kits will be distributed directly to the classrooms before the first day of school! Questions? Contact Mairin Gradek at [email protected] Patton Ice Cream Social and Book Fair - May 29th Please join your Patton friends and families as we celebrate the end of the school year!! The Ice Cream Social will be held on the blacktop from 7:00-8:30 pm next Friday, May 29th. The Book Fair will be held in the gym from 3:00-8:30 pm. Save the Date - June 5th Retirement Reception for Mrs. Ruckstaetter Please drop by the Patton Commons any time between 3:35 and 4:30 pm on Friday, June 5th to share your thanks and good wishes with Mrs. Ruckstaetter. She is retiring at the end of the school year after 27 years at Patton! Please remember to join ABC/25 during registration! The ABC/25 FOUNDATION Membership Drive Begins Now! You were recently sent a link via email to register your student(s) for the 2015-2016 school year. Please support Patton's chance to earn a $2,500 grant from the ABC/25 Foundation, the fundraising partner of School District 25! All you have to do is join ABC/25 with a $40 donation when you register your child online for the 2015-16 school year. We only need 25% of Patton’s families to join ABC/25 in order to receive the grant money. If you have children at more than one school in the district, your membership will count toward both schools’ membership tallies. This year, your membership in ABC/25 has helped provide Patton the funding for: 18 New Chromebooks A Student Dedicated Recording Studio E-Books Creation Station Thank you for continued support of ABC/25 and helping to foster innovation, creativity and excellence for the students of District 25. Attention Incoming Thomas 6th Graders Summer is on it’s way, and so is your summer reading adventure! Announcing... One Book, One Community - SUMMER READ 2015 This summer, both Thomas and South Middle Schools are reading Baseball Great by Tim Green. The Scholarship Committee was honored to make donations to the PTA Scholarship Fund in the name of our volunteers. Volunteer Opportunities Get a jump on 2015-16 - Volunteer NOW! The Patton PTA is run completely by the power of parent volunteers, offering many options through which you may provide your support. Next year’s Volunteer Form is ready, and is being handled online for simplicity. Thank you for bringing YOUR energy to Patton students through PTA! 2015 Spirit Day Believe it or not the end of the year is near! Spirit Day is Friday, June 5th and we are looking for volunteers to help supervise events for the students. This is a unique opportunity for you to see your kids and their friends in “action” at school. I guarantee you will have as much fun as the kids. Art Appreciation Coordinator Those parents who have been at Patton for a while may recall the “Art Mom” program, currently named Art Appreciation. This program brings Patton parents into the classroom to facilitate an art discussion/project which coordinates with the curriculum at that time. New lessons have been created, and next year we’d like to relaunch the revamped program. If you are interested in spearheading this launch, please contact Bob Corley [email protected] or Joanna Esposito [email protected] to let us know. This program needs a leader to implement its renaissance! We’d like to have someone in place by June 8th to continue bringing the program to our students. 2015-16 Market Day Apprentice Needed The Patton PTA Market Day program provides products that Patton families love while raising funds to support PTA programs. Beth Ligenza, who has led the program for some time, is looking for an apprentice to assist in 2015-16, with plans to take over in 2016-17. Room Representatives 2015/2016 Are you looking for a fun way to be involved in your child's classroom? Please consider volunteering to be a room representative. Complete and return the Room Rep Volunteer Form 2015-2016 to the office by June 4th. Room reps are selected via a lottery system when the class lists are finalized in August. You will be notified during the first week of school if you were selected.
