Internet Safety Program and PTA Meeting - Tuesday, April 14th at 7:30 pm
Please join us for the April PTA Program and Meeting in the Commons. The meeting will begin with an Internet Safety program presented by Officer Veenstra of the Arlington Heights Police Department. We will also our elect our officers for the 2015-2016 school year and hear about upcoming programs and activities. All Patton parents and staff are invited to attend! Patton Panther 2015 In-School Drawing! The Patton Panther In-School Drawing is here and we have many amazing packages donated by our generous Patton Staff! All proceeds from this drawing will go onto the District 25 Scholarship and Grant Fund, proceeds split 50/50 between PTA Council Scholarships and ABC/25 School Grants. Every student is given a free drawing entry - additional ticket entries can be purchased at $1 each, $5 for 6 or $10 for 12. All entry forms and money due to the school office by Friday, April 10th. Drawing will be held and winners announced the following week. **THIS WEEKEND** Just Move It Challenge - Help Needed! It's not too late to sign up to participate in or volunteer for the the District 25 Just Move It Challenge 5K and 1 mile walk/run! This family-friendly event will be held Saturday, April 11th at South Middle School - 5K starts at 8 am and 1 mile at 9 am. Additional volunteers are needed to make this a successful event. If you have a couple hours to spare on Saturday morning, please consider volunteering! Volunteers can view the open positions and sign up at Race Day Volunteers. Online registration to walk or run has closed, but participants can register in person beginning at 6:30 am on the day of the race at South Middle School. Let's Move It, Panthers! Market Day Orders Due Friday, 4/10 Don’t forget to place your Market Day order online, www.marketday.com, by 11 PM on Friday, April 10th. Order pick up will be on Wednesday, April 15 from 2-3:15 in the Commons. Can’t make the pick up but want to order? Place your order online and pay via credit card and then notify Beth Ligenza, [email protected] or 847-337-0743, that you need an alternate time and your order will be held. If you wish to write a check, make it payable to Market Day and drop it off at school prior to the pick up date. Spring Class Photos - April 15 As a reminder, Spring Class Photos will be Wednesday, April 15 (weather permitting). Please return your order envelopes (one per child) with payment by that date if you wish to order one. Sign up ASAP to purchase by following this link… Evereve Fundraiser Thursday, April 23rd the Patton PTA will be holding a fundraiser at Evereve in Deer Park (previously known as Hot Mama). Join us for an evening of shopping and socializing from 6-9 or shop during the day and mention the Patton PTA. Either way we will receive 15% of the sales. We look forward to seeing you there! Yearbook Orders The yearbook order date and custom pages creation date has been extended to Friday, April 24. After April 24, you will no longer be able to create custom pages. However, orders for yearbooks will still be accepted after April 24, but shipping charges will be included in any late orders. To order a yearbook, simply go to www.treering.com and enter the Patton code: 1014110707661184. At that point, you confirm your child(ren) and you are able to order. If you have any questions, please send an email to [email protected] Save Your Plastic Bags! Did you know that plastic shopping bags can be recycled? Patton PTA and the Patton Social Service Club are hosting a plastic bag recycling contest during Earth Week (April 20-24th) to encourage recycling. Each child in the class collecting the most bags will receive an eco-friendly prize. Please wait until April 20th to send bags to school - all bags must be received by April 24th. After the contest, you can continue to recycle your plastic bags at local stores such as Target and Jewel. Contact Jenny Stanhope at [email protected] with questions. Eco-Friendly Tips for Earth Month To help us celebrate Earth Month in April, students in the Patton Social Service Club created a list of the Top 10 Eco-friendly tips to help save energy. These tips have also been shared on the morning announcements with Patton students. Thank you for helping make the Patton community green! Top 10 Tips 1. Always turn off lights when done. 2. Turn off all electronics when done. 3. Turn off water when you brush your teeth. 4. Save hot water by taking short showers instead of baths. 5. Close the fridge when you get a snack. 6. Walk or ride a bike instead of taking a car. 7. Don’t leave doors to the outside open. 8. Use both sides of piece of paper before throwing it away. 9. Please remember to use the recycling bin in your classroom and lunchroom 10.
