Our "This is We" Wall is Missing a Few Faces! If you haven't done so yet and would like to participate, please have your student bring in a picture (no larger than a 4x6) of his or her best self. In the Commons we have a "This is We" wall on which we are displaying the photos. Students have been enjoying finding themselves and their friends and watching the wall grow! The Patton Playground Please be aware that the Park District's Children at Play (CAP) program uses the Patton playground on most days before and after school. Parents may also enjoy the playground with their children, but please do provide supervision so that your child doesn't get mixed into the CAP program. Picture Day is September 30th The order form for Patton's school picture day went home in backpacks earlier this week. Please complete the form and send it to school with your child on or any time before September 30th. You may pay for pictures with a credit card online (see below), or include cash or check in the envelope provided with the form. Congratulations Patton Panthers: Golden Keyboard Winners! This year we typed our way into first place for the Summer Keyboarding Challenge! This is the fifth year of the challenge and the first victory for Patton. Together the district typed 218,587 minutes. Just think how our typing skills improved over the summer! Patton was awarded the Golden Keyboard -- the District traveling trophy -- at the last School Board Meeting. Top typists from each school were also recognized and for Patton that was Carter! Congratulations to Carter, who also won lunch with Patton's Technology Facilitator, Mrs. Corley! Students used Typingtraining.com, which is available to all District 25 students. To log in, students use their Google logins (minus @student.sd25.org in the username). From the PTA: Patton PTA's Stress Free Fundraiser Periodically, our Patton PTA asks for participation in fundraising to support our many programs for students and families at our school. We take pride in being able to offer such a wide variety of fun after school events, bring in special guests and showcase unique performers. We are not going to ask you to sell cookies, frozen pizzas, wrapping paper, magazines, cooking utensils, etc. as we had done in past years. Once again, this is our big fall fundraiser. The stress-free fundraiser! Each year, we need to raise approximately $10,000 for PTA programs. With your help this fall we are asking for a donation of approximately $25 per family to meet our goal. Donations can be made from September 3rd – September 25th. All payments for the fundraiser will happen through the District 25 Web Store. Please follow the step by step instructions below to make your contribution.
WHAT DOES THE PATTON PTA DO WITH MY DONATION? The Patton PTA pays for fun events such as Birthday Books, Spirit Day, Back to School Bash, Pumpkin Patch, Cultural Arts Presentations, Bingo Night, Fun Fair, family pool night and the Ice Cream Social. The PTA also subsidizes many other special events and programs throughout the year such as author visits, in coming kindergarten play dates, teacher appreciation week and teacher dinners during conferences, Running Club, Mini Courses, Traffic and Safety, Directory Spot, and Fifth Grade Recognition Books. All of these events and programs are made possible by donations, membership dues and fundraising efforts. Every little bit helps to ensure these programs continue for our kids. Thank you so much! If you have questions, please contact the PTA at [email protected], Beckie Hejna at [email protected] or Sharon Korb at [email protected]. Safety Patrol Reminder If your child is part of Safety Patrol, please follow the same drop off procedure in the morning as when you bring your child to school. They are to be dropped off by the playground and then walk to the main entrance. This will help keep the traffic moving and everyone safe.
