Good Afternoon Patton Community,
I hope all of you have had a great week. To those who joined us for Spectacular Specials Night, we hope you had a wonderful time. With parent/teacher conferences coming up in the very near future, I wanted to share an article from the Huffington Post about how have a meaningful conference. Please click here for the article.
Students also had a great experience at our Veterans' Day Assembly. Our veterans were so touched by the kindness of our students. To read more about the assembly, click here.
Below is a video that was very popular a few years ago. For educators who seek professional development in social media, many have noticed that there has been a big push and emphasis on the concept of kindness. Below is a moving video called the Kindness Boomerang. The video is about 5-6 minutes long and it never hurts to have conversations about being kind with one another with our children.
Don't Forget Your Coat! And Hat, and Mittens...
Winter has arrived; please have your child dress appropriately for the colder weather, including hats, gloves and boots when necessary. Students will go out daily all winter long unless the temperature or wind chill dip below zero degrees.

Although we are only nearing the end of 2014, the Patton PTA is already planning for next Fall. We will be looking for Patton parents and guardians to join us as we continue to work to provide quality programs and activities for our students. Please consider your interests, and whether you’ll have time to get involved (or more involved) with next year’s PTA. If you will have time next year, OR if you have time this year, contact Jen Stanhope and Bob Corley at email@example.com.

NEW! Track your Volunteer Hours at Patton
Patton is lucky to have so many parent volunteers. When you come into the building to help out, you sign in on the clipboard. But what about all the time spent outside of school planning, baking, and working on projects? Please mentally keep track of your at-home volunteer time, and let us know your monthly volunteer minutes. Simply click on the link below when you see it in our PTA newsletter and you can report your at-home volunteer minutes. It's fast and easy, and it will give us a more realistic total of volunteer time. THANK YOU!https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1cW2IUjKS7mRmd7YSFXIkPjIa3X4musIjrWvjWTnYBhM/viewform
Having parent cooperation is vital to the success of our morning drop off routine at Patton! You can help immensely by saying your goodbyes on the drive to school and having your children, backpacks on laps, ready to exit the vehicle as soon as it's your turn in the drop off zone. If you feel that this may be difficult for your family to do, please pull into a parking space and take as much time as you may need.
Questions or Ideas?
Do you have a question or a great idea you want to share with PTA? A topic you would like to see on a PTA Meeting Agenda? Please email your ideas to Patton PTA at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always looking for help for upcoming events and committees and would love to hear from you! Thank you!
