We hope that many are able to join in this exciting community event! Rocket Lab Returns to Patton - This Club is Open to all 4th and 5th Graders! Your child is invited to join us as we learn all about Newton’s Third Law of Motion; "FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION." Participating 4th and 5th graders will demonstrate their understanding of this Law and observe how it works by building and launching their very own model rockets! Cost to participate is $10.00. Rockets are now available through the school store: click HERE to order. The deadline to order is April 18th. Rockets will be built during school in early May and will be launched after school on Tuesday, May 14 from 3:45-4:30 (rain date is May 16.) On April 24, award-winning author Lori Degman will be at Patton to share her books and the joy of poetry, reading and writing with 1st-3rd graders. Ms. Degman is the author of 1 Zany Zoo, Cock-a-Doodle Oops!, Norbert’s Big Dream, and the newly released, Just Read. Thank you to the Patton PTA for this experience! Students have the opportunity to preorder Ms. Degman’s books and have them autographed during the visit, at this link: Lori Degman book order Lori Degman is part of an organization called Authors for Earth Day! She will donate half of her Patton School appearance fee to one of the five non-profit conservation organizations that students in 3rd grade will choose after examining what the organization does for our Earth and/or animals. Please know that the placement process for all of the Patton students is extensive and well thought out. To that end, it is important to understand that requests for a specific teacher will not be considered, as allowing parents to request teachers puts a significant strain on an already extensive process.
