Relocation Recap We wanted to extend one more thank you to the parent community for how patient, kind, and supportive you were through the relocation process. St. Peter has shown themselves to be an amazing partner and we are very grateful for their help and support. Thank you Traffic Team The Patton traffic team deserves high praise for all of their efforts. This parent volunteer group are dedicated and no sub-zero weather will prevent them from serving. To the traffic team, thank you so very much for the work you do to keep our students safe on a daily basis... and with a smile no less! *As a reminder, please be respectful of our neighbors and do not block driveways. We have received some feedback that some driveways are being blocked. Additionally, be mindful of "no parking" signs along various roads. Lastly, a friendly reminder the back parking lot (the north lot behind the school) is not a pick up zone and children should be picked up in their dedicated locations. Thank you all for your cooperation in making pickup and drop off a success. Kindergarten Registration It is that time of year again! If you have an incoming kindergartener for next year, please contact the office (847-398-4288). Don't assume we know or remember you have a younger child. Also, if you have a neighbor or friend with a child who might be entering kindergarten, please let them know to give us a call. We are collecting email addresses that will be used later this month to begin the registration process for the 2017-18 school year. Thanks everyone! Winter/Spring Social Service Club Third, fourth, and fifth graders: join Patton's winter and/or spring club and help the school, our community and the world! Please use this link to register by January 13th. 5 Essentials Survey 5Essentials is an evidence-based system designed to drive improvement in schools nationwide—it reliably measures changes in a school organization through the 5Essentials Survey and provides individualized, actionable Reports for each school. The 5Essentials system is based on more than 20 years of research by the University of Chicago Consortium on Chicago School Research on five components found to be critical for school success: Effective Leaders: The principal works with teachers to implement a clear and strategic vision for school success. Collaborative Teachers: Teachers collaborate to promote professional growth. Involved Families: The entire school staff builds strong relationships with families and communities to support learning. Supportive Environment: The school is safe and orderly. Teachers have high expectations for students and support students to realize their goals. Classmates also support one another. Ambitious Instruction: Classes are academically demanding and engage students by emphasizing the application of knowledge. Please consider completing a parent survey to provide us more information on the 5Essentials and how we can continue to improve serving the Patton community. The parent survey is available in English and Spanish and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. To complete the parent survey, please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ and select Parent survey.
