School Picture Day is Coming! This Monday, October 2nd, is school picture day. If you wish to purchase any photos, please complete the order form and send it to school with your child on Monday (if you haven't already done so). If your child is absent Monday or you wish to retake the photo, retakes will be Tuesday, November 14th. Walk with the World on October 4th International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Thousands of schools from all 50 states participate every October. This year this world-wide event is taking place on Wednesday, October 4th. Our challenge is for as many families as possible to walk or bike to school on October 4, and we hope it will be a memorable event! Art Activities at Home If you are looking for some simple "how to" videos on creating some beautiful artwork at home with your kids, check out Mrs. Maloney's two videos below and maybe even give one of them a try!
Box Tops for Education™ Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢ for our school! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. All you have to do is clip them and send them to school with your child and he/she can place them in the Box Top collection mailbox. I’ll take care of the rest. For more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, go to BTFE.com. Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers. This year, Mr. Larson has committed to a pajama day for the students if we collect 5,000 box tops by October 13th! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help make our school’s Box Tops for Education™ program a huge success this year. Thanks for your help! Julie Gartrell ([email protected])
